What to expect at KVPS

Fees and Funding

Killarney Vale Preschool is funded by the NSW Department of Education and is a not-for-profit community operated early education service for children aged 3-6 years.

 

Our hours of operation are from 8.15am to 3.45pm Monday - Friday.

We operate for 41 weeks per year and close during NSW School Holidays.

We offer enrolments for 2 or 3 days per week for all eligible children.

​

We prioritise children in our local community, and meet the priority guidelines under the NSW Department of Education Start Strong Program.


Our fee structure for 2025 is:


  • 3 year old fee
  • 4 year old fee
  • Equity fee


Organisational Structure


The preschool is operated as not for profit community service managed by a Committee primarily composed of parents of the preschool.

The Committee is responsible for the Governance and strategic direction of our Preschool. All families using the service join the preschool association.

Each year, a committee is elected from members of the association and their support and participation at this level is vital for the preschool to function.

The day to day management of the centre is the responsibility of the Director.




A typical day at KVPS

Our flow:

8:15am

  • Preschool opens; children begin arriving, putting away their belongings and engaging in indoor play within their room.

9:30am

  • Children begin to transition outside for indoor/outdoor play
  • Progressive morning tea occurs
  • During this time children will be offered the time and space to explore the environment at their own pace as well as on some occasions engaging in incursions such as gymnastics, karate, nature play, and interest based experiences.

11:45am

  • Children transition indoors for the Acknowledgement of Country and small groups.

12:30pm

  • Transition to bathroom and lunch.

1:15pm

  • Barrua (rest/quiet time).

2:00pm

  • Children complete their jobs, engage in table activities.

2:30pm

  • Large group then transition outside for outdoor play.

3:15pm

  • Regroup before heading back inside for family grouping.

3:30pm

  • Final families arrive for pick up to chat with educators.

3:45pm

  • Preschool closes.
